Williamsport - Clifford C. Cotten, 76, Rt 2, Williamsport, retired blacksmith and farmer died this morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had resided in the Alamo area until he moved two years ago to Williamsport. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Born Aug 29, 1896, at Yeddo, he was a son of William and Jane Keller Cotten. He married Della Scott on March 20, 1916 at Rockville. She survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Susan R. Gustin of Carpentersville, Ill; Mrs. Helen LaFoe of Covington; Mrs. Alice Marie Nichols of Danville, Ill; Mrs. Vivian Spencer and Mrs. Delores Newlin both of Williamsport; four sons, James H of Covington; Clifford Jr of Danville, Ill; Bill and Robert both of Kingman; three brothers, Wesley of Waveland; James A. of Crawfordsville and William O of Homasassa, Florida; a sister, Mrs. Euma Hasket of Crawfordsville; 40 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, son, grandson and great grandson. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & SHelby Funeral Home at Covington with Rev. Harris Stuermer officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
